Wiltshire Parent Carer Council (WPCC) - Vacancies

The Parent Carer Council are being approached more and more by departments to be involved in various projects and pieces of work - this is very encouraging and is excellent news as it means that an increasing number of services are seriously taking on board the needs of disabled children, young people and families!

As their portfolio is rapidly expanding, it would be fantastic to have some new faces on board. Below is a list of their current 'situations vacant' and a document explaining a bit more about the roles and responsibilities of a Parent Representative or Team Lead, as well as the amount of time you might expect to dedicate to each role (based on your own experiences!)  You will see there is a broad range of services they need WPCC representation on, with particular urgency in Wheelchair Services and Sensory Mobile Unit.

They appreciate as parents and carers, the prospect of taking on a more active role might seem a little daunting at first, so they have booked a venue in Devizes for Wednesday 17th March to give those of you who are interested, an opportunity to pick their brains about how it's been for them!

They also offer free training for parents and carers on 'Participation' which runs over 2 days (10am-2pm) and the next one is booked for April 27th + 28th.

Please see below for further information and contact details and have a think about it - it really is very rewarding.
